Hello friends, here we are in the center of TaipeiWe are here to meet up with our very good friend, GracieFor Taipei’s best breakfastFuhang Doujiang, Fuhang Soy Milk in Huashan Marketis “the” most famous soy milk restaurant in TaipeiIf you come here during the mornings, you may have to wait in line for up to 2 hours!My tip for you - Come here at noon on a weekday, when people are switching over to lunchThat way you may only have to wait for 15, 20 minutesGracie should be getting here anytime now!Soy Milk restaurant is a type of breakfast restaurants in Taiwanthat serve not only soy milk but also all types of traditional breakfast itemsTheir signature item is a thick bread baked in this special oven,where you stick the dough onto the sides of the ovenso the outside is nice and crispy once the bread is cooked throughWe ordered a lot of different things todayCaramel pastry is actually baked in their special oven and inside is caramel sugarAnd this, Danbing, is an egg crepeWhat makes their savory soy milk really good is thatOther than the usual, the scallion, the youtiao, which is super crispy cruller,they have xiāmǐ in it. Xiāmǐ is little bits of shrimpSo this is our salty soy milk here, whereas here we have the sweet soy milkIt’s more of a drinkOne last thingHòubǐng jiádàn, thick pastry with eggSo I do love soy milk. I drank it everyday during quarantineEveryday!Yeah, I UberEats a large tub of it and I had it every single dayDid you have this in quarantine too?No, well, actually they sent it to us, but it didn’t look like thisCaramel sugar, totally melted, ready to try it?So there’s crunch, sesame adds a little bit of savorySuper goodAfter that huge huge breakfast, we decided to go do some shoppingHuashan, here we come!There are a lot of pop-up markets all over Taipei. This one is just outside of Huashan 1914Where they sell a lot of hand-made artisanal thingsIf you haven’t seen our video on this unique park, be sure to check it out!Now with our new hats, yay girls, new hats, we are ready to take a walk through Bopiliao.Bopiliao is a historical block in Taipei’s oldest neighborhood, Wanhua.If you haven’t seen our video about Wanhua, check that out, too!Today, we are visiting the Local History Museum at Bopiliao.While it was fun to visit with the girls, I loved coming here with my mom last month,who was so excited to see the exhibit on school life from when she was a girlI am feeling totally exhausted from touringIt’s a hard jobNow we are at Herb Alley for a little snack of shāo xiāncǎo, which is “hot herbs”It’s an herbal tea with stuff in itIf you leave it long enough it’s going to congealRefreshing, right?Herbal, taste like medicine, it’s healthyExplain this to me mamaAfter a day of touring we somehow brought ourselves to Longshan Templethe oldest and biggest temple in TaipeiWe are going to sign off now.Bye-bye
